PRODUCTION DEPARTMENT - Production Worker - Non-Exempt (Regular Full-Time, Non-Supervisory)

Supervisor: Manager, Assembly, Plastics, Chem-Make, or Bottling

General Position Description:

Set-up, load, assemble, label, pack or package; by hand or machine, a wide variety of products and materials for shipment or storage. Perform sample quality inspections and input and retrieve data within an ERP system.


Key Job Tasks:

        • Accurately read, interpret and execute job instructions.
        • Set-up, load with raw materials, operate and monitor production line operations to ensure even flow of the product.
        • Perform sampling inspections to validate quality standards. Remove, separate, document and report defective materials/products.
        • Label, package and/or palletize finished product for storage or shipment as required.
        • Assist with training and directing temporary labor to execute production activities.
        • Document work completion via paperwork and computer entry.
        • Perform basic operator preventive maintenance on machines and equipment to ensure non-stop production. Report defective equipment to appropriate leader.
        • Monitor materials levels. Resupply the production line and initiate restock notification in a timely manner to avoid work-stoppage.

Key Qualifications:

Education:  High school diploma or equivalent

Certification/License:  Must be able to pass the Farnsworth-Munsell 100 Hue Test.* This test for color blindness will be administered by Taylor Technologies.

Experience:  Minimum three (3) years experience in production assembly/packaging line operation. Prior experience leading/supervising/directing production workers and operations preferred, but not required.

Knowledge:  Good mechanical reasoning aptitude.* Proficient in basic math skills (addition, subtraction, division, multiplication, fractions and decimals).* Sufficient fluency of the English language in order to read, comprehend, and communicate in a safe and accurate manner.*

Skills: 

        • Proficient computer skills to navigate windows-based systems.

General Position Description:

The Industrial Accounts Sales Representative is the primary contact for Taylor’s industrial-market customers. This position will maintain contact with current industrial customers in order to promote the Taylor image, ensure customer satisfaction, cross-sell other Taylor products and services, and grow account sales. General Position Description:

The primary role of this position is to interface with customers regarding basic technical aspects of Taylor’s products and services.

 

Key Job Tasks:

        • Assist customers over the telephone and email with product choices, product updates, and problem resolution.
        • Order processing through ERP system.
        • Relay customer feedback to appropriate individuals in sales, quality assurance, technical, production, admin, accounting, and marketing.
        • Possess knowledge of our products and resolve issues ensuring customer satisfaction with adherence to the organization’s policies.

Key Qualifications:

Supervisor: Director of Production

General Position Description:

Plan, organize, direct, control and coordinate the work activities and resources necessary for manufacturing products in accordance with cost, quality, quantity and delivery specifications.


Key Job Tasks:

        • Oversee all aspects of production and supervision of personnel throughout multiple departments during a limited production 2nd shift.
        • Enforce health, safety, and security policies and procedures.
        • Supervise, train, and lead temporary workers and full-time employees to maintain a fully staffed and qualified workforce.
        • Ensure sufficient quantities and serviceable condition of resources, materials and equipment are available at all times to satisfy production specifications and deadlines.
        • Receive job orders from Production Controller. Plan, organize, coordinate, and direct work activities to ensure quality, quantity and delivery requirements are met.
        • Apply Lean Manufacturing techniques to ensure work flows through the manufacturing process without gaps or work stoppage.
        • Ensure work documentation is completed, accurate, and updated in the ERP system.
        • Coordinate with other managers and key staff to make sure there is a seamless and smooth transition between shifts and that production, resupply, repair, staffing and other potential needs are properly communicated and addressed.
        • Work directly on the production line when needed to backfill worker shortages and on a regular-basis to maintain process awareness and first-hand observation of problems and opportunities for improvement.

 
Key Qualifications:

Education:  High school diploma or equivalent required.* Associates or bachelor's degreee in Manufacturing and Industrial Management, Industrial Engineering, Business Management, or similar field is preferred.

Certification/License:  Certificates or coursework in Supervision, Leadership or Management are a plus.

Experience:  Minimum five (5) years experience of proven experience in a supervisory/managerial role of a manufacturing department is required. *
