The company: Taylor Technologies is a leading manufacturer of water-testing supplies. Applications for our field tests include industrial water treatment, residential and commercial water conditioning, food processing and beverage production, swimming pool/spa maintenance, and municipal water and wastewater treatment. Our plant is located on the Maryland-Pennsylvania line off I-83 north of Baltimore. Please visit www.taylortechnologies.com.
The opening: The Marketing team would like to find another creative mind to join our close-knit group who meets the following qualifications: bachelor’s degree in graphic design (or an associate’s degree with commensurate practical experience); 3 to 5 years’ work history as a professional graphic designer; strong skills in typography, composition, and color theory; and experience designing for print, web, packaging, and presentations. Video, animation, and motion graphics experience would be a big plus.
You will be responsible for providing support to the art director and senior graphic designer in four areas: (1) print materials and digital imaging for marketing, sales, and administrative uses, such as brochures, fliers, newsletters, greeting cards, trade show booth graphics, journal advertisements, and direct mail packages; (2) digital product photography; (3) product packaging, such as labels and display cartons; and (4) audio-visual productions such as Microsoft PowerPoint presentations, webinars, videos, and content for the company website, including animations. Your experience should encompass scanning and color-correcting existing art, creating new art, and typesetting and layout, while working within corporate guidelines to ensure consistency in the company’s image; incorporating changes from the review process; finalizing the digital files; and coordinating handoff of the files to such vendors as printers, magazine art departments, website service providers, etc.
To be successful in this position, you must be self-motivated, take direction well, pay close attention to details, have a good sense of humor, and be able to work on multiple assignments simultaneously. Respect for deadlines is imperative.
